Surveillance for antimalarial drug resistance
Webinar
Zoom Webinar

Resistance to antimalarials is an ongoing threat to malaria elimination efforts with growing levels of P. falciparum artemisinin and ACT resistance reported in much of the Greater Mekong Subregion. Resistance surveillance is essential for countries to rapidly identify, monitor and respond to this threat. For this Surveillance and Response Working Group TechTalk, Prof Arjen Dondorp, Deputy Director of MORU has been invited to speak on surveillance for antimalarial drug resistance, and will be accompanied by Prof Olivo Miotto, Associate Professor from Oxford University who will be sharing insights from the GenRe-Mekong platform which integrates genomic technologies for mapping resistance markers to support public health decision-making. Join us in exploring the innovative use of genomic technology, and directly learn about GenRe-Mekong’s application in two GMS countries from Keobouphaphone Chindavongsa on Lao PDR, and Dr Huynh Hong Quang on Vietnam.
